“Our content seems to be unwavering, yet we exist to strive for…”

An American businessman was at the pier of a small coastal Quezon village when a small boat with just one fisherman docked. Inside the small boat were several large yellow fin tuna. The American complimented the Pinoy on the quality of his fish and asked how long it took to catch them.

The Pinoy replied, "Only a little while, Sir."

The American then asked, "Why didn't you stay out longer and catch more fish?"
The Pinoy said he had enough to support his family's immediate needs.

The American then asked, "But what do you do with the rest of your time?"

The Pinoy fisherman said, "I sleep late, fish a little, play with my children, take siesta with my wife Maria, stroll into the village each evening where I sip lambanog and play guitar with my kumpare. I have a full and busylife, Sir."

The American scoffed, "I am a Harvard MBA and could help you. You should spend more time fishing and with the proceeds, buy a bigger boat. With the proceeds from the bigger boat you could buy several boats, eventually you would have a fleet of fishing boats. Instead of selling your catch to a middleman you would sell directly to the processor, eventually opening your own cannery. You would control the product, processing and distribution. You would need to leave this small coastal fishing village and move to Manila City, then LA and eventually NYC where you will run your expanding enterprise."

The Pinoy fisherman asked, "But Sir, how long will this all take?"

To which the American replied, "15-20 years."

"But what then, Sir?"

The American laughed and said, "That's the best part. When the time is right you would announce an IPO and sell your company stock to the public and become very rich, you would make millions.

"Millions, Sir? Then what?"

The American said, "Then you would retire. Move to a small coastal fishing village where you would sleep late, fish a little, play with your kids, take siesta with your wife, stroll to the village in the evenings where you could sip lambanog and play your guitar with your kumpare."

"You mean being a Harvard MBA, you have to go through all that to finally get me to where I already am, Sir?"

Kahit yung game developer gusto nila murang pasweldo sa programmer.

Tayo consumer gusto din natin murang bayad sa games.

Yung developer sometimes source out yung production nila para makatipid.

Outsource nila sa India or Philippines

In return may good effect and bad effect ganyan talaga sa business

You need to be competitive

or else malulugi ka.

Parang mga Chinese- Mura benta dami kita. Mahal Benta kunti kita.

Kaya kapag mahal produkto mo, kunti lang kayang bumili.

Like sa books. Yung Pearson may paperback na book just for the 3rd world countries.

At isipin nyo mahal pa ang importation cost nun.

May First Gentleman Tax, Gloria TAX, Custom Tax, VAT, EVAT, VAT ng Ina nilang lahat.

Ganyan kahirap magnegosyo but this is all part of business.

So, in order to survive find ways to make your product reach a broader market make your product easy to reach

Kahit sila yung publishing ng game nila sa china kasi cheap labor. Then they expect high returns sa investment nila.

Sino talo, eh di yung mass labor ng china. Force labor.

Talo din US kasi nawawala yung trabaho sa kanila nalilipat sa Philippines or India or kung saan-saan pa.

In the end, you need to find ways to reach your target market.

Mahal ang games, kaya may piracy, ganun din sa movie.

Imagine bili ka ng DVD 500 pag nagasgas wala na. Tapos itatabi mo lang sa cabinet, tapos may new format at technology na naman, Betamax, VHS, VCD, DVD, Blue-ray at maraming pang iba.

Investment or Marketing Gimmick?

How many times mo panonoorin 2x or 1x? Ganon din sa Sine 180petot samantalang dati mura lang sine 16 sa baba, 18 sa taas. Ngayon hindi na mura, mapapamura ka pa kapag pangit yung Movie.

Paano pa manood si pobreng Juan ng sine. Kung kalahati ng sweldo nya sa kasiyahan/entertainment ay ubos na. Kaya nag boom ang cinema industry sa philippines noon ay dahil abot kaya ng masa. The bakya crowd.

Eh ngayon. manood lang ako ng sine kapag kailangan magandang panoorin sa sine otherwise hintayin mo na lang sa TV or sa suki mo.

When we choose to increase our margin/profits, we also make a risk of jeopardizing the industry.

Make it more accessible and affordable, people will support it. And the piracy will stop.

Kahit ilang beses mong i-raid and lahat ng pirata. Magkakaroon at magkaroon nyan. ‘di yan titigil kasi malaki din ang kita nila dyan.

So if people can choose between affordable original products versus counterfeit with very little price difference. The demand for knock off will slowly fade and in return eliminating the need for piracy.

As I lay here in the cold corner of our room

While you are minding your own things

the feeling of being empty inside me.

A feeling that makes me want

to put wedge inside my broken heart

A heart that lays empty inside of me

the heart that grows tirelessly weak

Each second that passes with you

without you touching my skin

My skin that longs to be caressed
caress, that i wish that will come into my empty corner
How could you say you love me?
while I am here lying in this cold empty corner
My heart is aching so much

As I catch my breathe

I can feel all the pain inside me

the pain that kills every senses of me

The breath that slowly twitch every feelings inside me

The Seed

A successful business man was growing old and knew it was time to choose a successor to take over the business. Instead of choosing one of his directors or his children, he decided to do something different. He called all the young executives in his Company together.

He said, 'It is time for me to step down and choose the next CEO. I have decided to choose one of you.'

The young executives were shocked, But the boss continued.'I am going to give each one of you a SEED today - One very special SEED. I want you to plant the seed, water it, and come back here one year from today with what you have grown from the seed I have given you. I will then judge the plants that you bring, and the one I choose will be the next CEO'

One man, named Jim, was there that day and he, like the others, received a seed. He went home and excitedly, told his wife the story. She helped him get a pot, soil and compost and he planted the seed. Everyday, he would water it and watch to see if it had grown.

After about three weeks, some of the other executives began to talk about their seeds and the plants that were beginning to grow. Jim kept checking his seed, but nothing ever grew.

Three weeks, four weeks, five weeks went by, still nothing. By now, others were talking about their plants, but Jim didn't have a plant and he felt like a failure.

Six months went by--still nothing in Jim's pot. He just knew he had killed his seed. Everyone else had trees and tall plants, but he had nothing.

Jim didn't say anything to his colleagues, however. He just kept watering and fertilizing the soil - he so wanted the seed to grow.

A year finally went by and all the young executives of the company brought their plants to the CEO for inspection. Jim told his wife that he wasn't going to take an empty pot.
But she asked him to be honest about what happened. Jim felt sick at his stomach, it was going to be the most embarrassing moment of life, but he knew his wife was right. He took his empty pot to the board room.

When Jim arrived, he was amazed at the variety of plants grown by the other executives. They were beautiful--in all shapes and sizes. Jim put his empty pot on the floor and many of his colleagues laughed, a few felt sorry for him! When the CEO arrived, he surveyed the room and greeted his young executives. Jim just tried to hide in the back.

'My, what great plants, trees, and flowers you have grown,' said the CEO.

'Today one of you will be appointed the next CEO!'

All of a sudden, the CEO spotted Jim at the back of the room with his empty pot. He ordered the financial director to bring him to the front.

Jim was terrified. He thought, 'The CEO knows I'm a failure! Maybe he will have me fired!'

When Jim got to the front, The CEO asked him what had happened to his seed Jim told him the story. The CEO asked everyone to sit down except Jim. He looked at Jim, and then announced to the young executives, 'Behold your next Chief Executive! His name is Jim!'

Jim couldn't believe it. Jim couldn't even grow his seed. How could he be the new CEO the others said?

Then the CEO said, 'One year ago today, I gave everyone in this room a seed. I told you to take the seed, plant it, water it, and bring it back to me today. But I gave you all boiled seeds; They were dead - it was not possible for them to grow. All of you, except Jim, have brought me trees and plants and flowers. When you found that the seed would not grow, you substituted another seed for the one I gave you. Jim was the only one with the courage and honesty to bring me a pot with my seed in it. Therefore, he is the one who will be the new Chief Executive!'

If you plant honesty, you will reap trust
If you plant goodness, you will reap friends
If you plant humility, you will reap greatness
If you plant perseverance, you will reap contentment
If you plant consideration, you will reap perspective
If you plant hard work, you will reap success
If you plant forgiveness, you will reap reconciliation

So be careful what you plant now; it will determine what you will reap later.

What we are is God's gift to us; what we become is our gift to God.

I don’t care what kind of person you are!

What’s important is that person loves me so dearly.

The mud that they throw unto to us,
The mud that persecutes our being,
The being that was Us.

Breakfast

Gone are the days that I long for your sweetness and longing for you to prepare me a sumptuous breakfast in bed. Gone are the mornings that I welcome the warmth of the new morning with your body close to mine. The morning with a small talk even in very low voice yet we understand each other by just gazing into each other eyes, I missed your lovely eyes, I missed those simple moments. We say goodbye and take care as if we’re not going to see each other later. Those breakfast meal that completes our morning, we don’t have it anymore.

I'm longing for you by
every morning.

Lunch

Gone are the days that I long for your sweet voice, waiting for you to call me while I’m taking my lunch. Gone are the afternoon that I just smile deep inside me, didn’t even bother if someone are looking at me. I wanted to enjoy more the food even it is bland, when you call and I heard your voice, it become a food made in heaven. I want to show the whole world how happy I am with you. I want to scream and thank God that we are together. People I met and passed by notice my glow. The glow that you kept lit. Now that you are gone, who will lighten my life?

I'm longing for you by every afternoon.

Dinner

Gone are the days that I long for someone to lit my life in the evening, gone are the night that I wait patiently for you to pick me up at work. Though you are late, I still smile and ask you ‘how’s your day?’ I want to show you that I care. I want you to know that I’m not angry. I am happy that you have arrived safe to be there for me. The distance and troubles you take just to be there, I could not be much happier. We take our dinner, though you don’t like the food that I like, you will still smile and say ‘Good, indulge and thank you for this wonderful meal.’ The day will not be complete without you saying goodnight and iloveyou. Who will spark my night, spark like the twinkle of the stars? Who will comfort me through the coldness of the night? I no longer have the light that will keep me shine.

I'm longing for you by every evening.

A day and each day

I wish I could have you more but you are gone. I wish I have cherished

Think Small, Dream Bigger: Empowering the SME (Small Medium Enterprise)

Part 1

In these times of economic uncertainty, we are facing great challenges to weather the crisis. Most often the case, some Large Enterprises (LE) fold up because of burgeoning debt. But most SME survived and became more resilient.

The world economies comprised 93% of Small Medium Enterprise (SME).

Most of Information Technology (IT) solutions being provided to the SMEs are not actually made for them. Those IT solutions are made for the LE yet we try to consolidate to make it fit for the SME. The SME ends up paying high acquisition and maintenance cost.

There is also a so-called SME solution, tailored and custom made for SMEs. But this solution comes with high licensing option and high administration cost. Most SMEs don’t have enough resources to cope up with the high cost of licensing and administration; much more on the technical knowhow on its implementation and administration.

The end result of these solutions is often hazy, vague and disastrous.

IT Solution - Business Organization - IT Provider PYRAMID

Now in this time of crisis when we try to cut cost and improve productivity, the IT industry are having difficulties convincing the SMEs to spend more on IT solutions. The SMEs that makes up the world economy . The IT solutions that promise to improve productivity while cutting down cost, in reality, never materializes.

The reasons for this are, most the solution being provided are half baked solutions. The IT industry tried so hard for the SMEs to willingly accept.

The IT sector never made a full attempt to fully understand the needs of the SMEs. What are the real needs of the SMEs? What are the real needs of people who had just started their own businesses? SMEs must not see the technology as additional cost for their business and as a burden to them. The IT sector must be able to differentiate the needs from wants of the SMEs.
IT is the solution. The one that will help modern businesses grow.

If the trend on the IT sector continues to bank on the Large ticket solution for the LARGE Enterprises then the world we know would face slow growth and hasten the collapse of LARGE Enterprises. These businesses are interconnected, yet we tend to forget the supporting platform beneath the LARGE Enterprise. The SMEs support the LARGE ones. They are the consumers, suppliers and the backbone of the Large ticket industry, within which the IT sector tried so hard to sell their products and services.

The IT sector focuses all their resources on providing different solutions to LEs. The IT industry even tend to come up with ridiculous solutions, and brand them, divide them and create a very complex licensing scheme.

That’s where the money is.

This is the right time that we shift our attention to the SMEs.

We must start looking for the right solutions that will fit the SME sector. Solutions that are small and simple, yet powerful enough to move the ship forward and leap a greater distance.
